The word of God is our vehicle to meet with Jesus
A beautiful storyπππ
Lara:
Something happened and her heart is heavy, she is desperately in need of answers. It could be something really big or simply the day-to-day realities of living life.
Whatever the case her heart needs to be unburdened. She needs someone she can talk to and just pour out her heart. Her heart is crying out for understanding and she need rest beyond the rest of her body.
Returning from the grind of the day, she throws herself on her bed, too bothered to even think of eating. That moment when she is almost drifting off to a restless sleep fully certain she will wake up multiple times through night out of anxiety, at that moment where she seems to have been temporarily numbed to the troubles of the day, a word quietly but forcefully slips from her subconscious into her mind...
Omolaraeni,
"Come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden..."
The words are so simple yet they contain invigorating power.
From her almost unconscious state she suddenly is alert and her mind is seeing someone. The One with whom she has had a lifelong relationship and friendship beyond what anyone on earth can ever give her.
Heartwarming memories begin to flood her soul and spirit. With each memory, she could sense lifegiving light and comfort invading her troubled heart. A sense of wholeness begins to pulsate through her being like the refreshing waters of a cold stream on a sunny day.
Yes, she hears the words again.
"Come unto Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Beyond the words, she sees the Face of Someone so glorious, yet so friendly. Pictures of Her Lord and friend begin to flash through her mind. She hears Him say;
'My peace I give to you."
She remembers the word that says 'there is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother."
Each sentence washes over her like waves on a sunny day at the beach. Like a cool breeze serenading her in a garden, she begins to feel alive again.
The invitation to come is too refreshing to resist and with her heart seeing Him and savouring those life-changing words, she begins to speak.
Jesus, Lover of my soul. Jesus, my peace. The words of Hosea come filtering into her mind '...come with words" and she begins to describe what she sees.
The glory of His Person. His voice revives her. His words give her courage and suddenly she can hardly feel the burden that weighed so heavily on her.
As the conversation with Him continues, He gives a word that is the answer she needed, and before you know it she has spent an hour and more with Him who is the Lover of her soul. His words have revived her!
"This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life." Psalm 119:50 (AMP)
"I hang on to these words for dear life! These words hold me up in bad times; yes, your promises rejuvenate me." The Message
The words of eternal life. Yes, He upholds all things by the word of His power!
